A bad day is not a bad life!

"Everyone has their highs and lows and that's what keeps us growing as a person. " - A famous quote by Mary Engelbreit says "it's just a bad day, not a bad life". How many times have we been told to not ponder over a thing if it doesn't go our way. Often we offer this advice to people but forget applying same for ourselves. Now since offering this advice is so common we surely know that it’s not only us going through this.

"Bad moods release cortisol which blinds our mind to positivity." -We have all watched SRK movies and have heard "Haar ke jeetne wale ko hi baazigar kehte hain" which simply is a motivation to not quit after a defeat. Losing a day once does not mean we will be losing every day. Similarly, one bad day does not judge your entire life but tests our personality to see if we can stand against odds. A study has also revealed that dark moods releases cortisol that blinds the mind to anything good or positive which weakens our immune system in contrast to happy thoughts which lower cortisol and stimulate serotonin, happy hormone. Just one negative feeling can help the anxiety kick in and ruin your day.

"Spending 20 minutes with wise thoughts and positive thoughts gives us a new perspective."-Just spending 20 minutes every day with loving and positive words can be a game changer whatever our doubts or hesitation be since our mind believes whatever we talk to it. Practising mindfulness and taking note of our thoughts and feelings goes a long way. Adhering to this simple practice dissolves the problems in this new perspective of life and a new courage sets in. Doing rhythmic exercises like cycling, dancing, etc can help the body get rid of feelings of rage and jealousy.

"Practicing kindness and having an intention to be good tempered puts energy into being positive." -Directing our mind to live in wellness and having the intention to be even or good tempered directs our energy towards being positive. Encourage the mind to accept life with all the imperfections and be happy for whatever you have. Allow the mind to explore life and enjoy all its sides. Remind yourself to practice kindness as it also makes us happy by helping others. A deficiency of Vitamin B12 and D3 can also cause negativity, low feelings and low energy, thus it is important to get the test done periodically specially while having any of these symptoms.

Day after day, choose to be happy and don't let the bad days defeat you. Ahamyo is also there to help you with both offline and online psychologist consultation near you.
