Does sugar make you gain fat

"Dessert is something almost everyone craves for after a meal but that excess of it can badly influence our body." -How about some desert? *wait that's something wrong* Yeah, I meant how about some dessert? That sounds right now and it must have made your mouth water already especially if you're reading this after a meal or you were already craving something sweet to eat. Most of us would choose the dessert, but you should choose the desert if you wanna sweat and lose weight. Not actually, that would be stupid.

"Added sugars have no nutrients, get digested quickly and thus are a poor energy source" -Sugar, one of many carbohydrates occur naturally in many foods and drinks naturally such as fruits, vegetables and dairy products. That's what makes one watermelon sweeter than another. These foods are important to be included in diet as they have other nutrients too in addition to sugar. However added sugars have no nutritional value to themsleves and are also a poor energy source as it's digestion is done by the body quickly. So eating much sugar equals health problems.

"Sugar leads to leptin resistance which does not allow body to determine how much energy the body needs." -Excess sugar can also be a reason for long weight loss journey. Since sugar is digested by the body quickly it wouldn't suppress hunger for long which would in-turn lead to eating more regularly thus increasing calories consumed. However sugar does not cause weight gain by itself. It leads to leptin resistance, which is a hormone that regulates hunger by deciding how much energy the body needs, hence the body does not respond to leptin correctly causing problems.

"Pleasure eating makes us crave for foods even when we're full thus leading to weight gain." -Eating too much sugary foods and drinks can lead to weight gain by itself even with regular excercise. Also, we can overlook healthy eating and healthier foods while consuming sugary and fatty foods. Also it is shown that pleasure eating bypasses normal brain triggers for being hungry which makes us crave food even when we're full.

Therefore, sugar can add taste to food but can also add weight to our body, so we should have a controlled amount of sugary foods and drinks. Thinking about losing weight, you can consult one of the best dietitians near you at Ahamyo , call +919560264949 to book a consultation now
