Water : deficiency results and reasons, excess results and reasons, advantages/importance, myths

We don't care about things that have qualities like being abundant and being readily available. There are not much things like that but one thing that ticks both those boxes is water.

Water is in abundance for everyone and is easily available, well for most of the people. Drinking water is really crucial for much as 60% of our body is water.

Lack of a certain amount of water in our body cause dehydration. The time when we feel thirsty we're already mildly dehydrated, so we should try to drink at regular time intervals to keep ourselves hydrated. Usually not drinking enough water or excess water loss through sweating, vomiting etc. or certain diuretics pills can cause dehydration. Our body signals us about dehydration by symptoms like headaches, fatigue which if not catered to can cause life threatening illnesses like heatstroke. Now since we know about the harms of drinking less water that doesn't mean we should keep filling in water without any check, as drinking excess water is also deleterious leading to over-hydration. Over-hydration is caused when we're drinking excess water than needed by the body to function properly. This disrupts the amount of sodium that regulates the balance of fluid inside and around the fells. Too much water can lower it's levels and cause the cells to swell thus causing headaches, fatigue and risk of dying. Drinking water can help kidneys clear out toxins, normalise blood pressure, aiding digestion, protecting organs and tissues but too much of it can also make the body world abnormally. So instead of sticking to the idea of a certain amount of glasses of water a day, do what feels good for you and do listen to your body when it signals you to drink water. Since not only apples but water can also keep the doctor away.
