Progress outside weighing scale

"Weighing ourselves -the first thing we do on reaching gym" -Imagine yourself going to the gym for weight loss or gain. What's the first thing you think you're gonna do when you reach the gym?
If your answer was weigh myself, then you're among one of the many people who do the same. That's the norm right, weigh ourself to see whether we've gained or lost some pounds with the diet we followed until we hit the gym.

"Scale weight is not the end of the story" -The holy grail of checking our weight is *that's right* the scale. Hopping onto the scale, seeing the numbers move back and forth, feeling anxious for a while and then measuring our progress according to the number shown on it. Even though scales are great for reference, changes in lean mass and water weight, not measured by scales, scale weight is not the end of story. "Good mood and high self esteem as a measure of progress" -Scale weight is an easy way of weight information but actual progress can be measured by various other factors. Better mood, higher self esteem and exercise benefits are immeasurable by a scale. Now, since we're in better shape we'll not be out of breath quickly. Decreased risk of diseases thus cutting healthcare costs and in turn leaving us with more savings. "Better sleep and longer workout timings as a reward for being fit" -Reduced body fat percentage and narrowing belly circumference which can be measured with the help of a skin folder caliber. Better sleep, ability to workout and exercise for longer periods than before and lesser cravings for unhealthy foods are also a way to appreciate the long path already taken. So instead of heavily relying on scale, keeping in mind the above points and taking progress photos can also be a measure of fitness.
