Tennis elbow!

"Pain is the most common way to know something is wrong with the body"- The most common way to know that something is wrong with any body part is that we will experience pain. That is true for almost every body part for everyone. One of the areas where you can be experience recurring pain and it might need attention is your elbow. If you've been having the pain for almost a week, then it might be time to contact a doctor.

"Most common of tennis elbow cause is the overworking or muscles"- Tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis, is painful weakening of tendons that join our forearm muscles to bones. It mostly occurs when we overwork the elbow muscles too much. It is mostly common for bowlers, fencers, golfers, tennis players etc. Also people in certain professions like gardeners, musicians etc are also more prone to tennis elbow. Despite the names, tennis is responsible for only 5%of the cases. It is mostly common for people aged between 30 and 50.

"Swollen elbow joint or weakened grip can be an indicator of tennis elbow"- Tennis elbow mostly occurs on the dominant side and is generally a pain on the outside of the arm where forearm meets the elbow. The most common symptoms would be burning pain on the outside of elbow, pain while twisting or bending the arm, swollen elbow joint or weakening of the grip. To diagnose, doctors can check for pain in parts of the arm, and that is mosly enough but doctors can alo get X-rays or MRI done to be sure.

"Resting and ice massaging are the household ways to managing it."- Since we know that it is mostly caused by overuse of muscles, the most common way to manage it at home would be to let the muscles rest. Other treatments include ice massages, physical therapy etc. As this condition can be painful and can keep the players out of the game for a while, doing simple warm ups can be a great help. Also using lighter equipments and doing excercises to strengthen the appropriate muscles , is advised to be done under expert supervision.

Lastly, a quick test at home to check if you have tennis elbow. Stand behind a chair with your arms on chair back, palms facing downward and straight elbows and try lifting the chair. If this causes pain you might have developed this condition.
