What do you go through in a physical assessment by a physiotherapist!

"Physiotherapists are trained to deal with people of all ages having any type of muscle or joint issue." -A physiotherapist is someone who helps us to get back on our feet if we have an illness or injury that impacts our ability to carry out daily tasks or move. A physio helps patients in pain management, motor function and movement. They are trained to work for joint mobilization with patients at all stages of life whose movement and functions are impacted by injury, weight issues, environmental factors, aging etc.

"Physiotherapists are as essential to players as players are to a game." -Physios or physiotherapists is a term everyone must've heard of if they've been following cricket or any sport for that matter because we see players consulting a physio or taking medical timeout for any sports injury if they've felt a muscle pull or joint pain during the play. This makes a physiotherapist essential for any sportsperson.

"Persisiting pain for several days might be a sign to see a physiotherapist." -A need to get checked yourself by the physiotherapist might arise if there is a pain that persists or deteriorates for several days and pain killers have not been able to treat it. The first thing then a physiotherapist does is a physical assessment which includes the physiotherapist asking questions regarding your pain, background of it, the factors aggravating and easing the pain. Also general questions regarding occupation and sleep patterns may also be asked for a clear understanding of the problem.

"Examination will check how much pain is there and what technique might be the best for you." -After the initial consultation, the physiotherapist might examine depending on where the issue is in the body. During the examination, the strength, movement, and joints are checked to see any sign of nerve pain. Different physiotherapy techniques will be applied to see what suits you the best in accordance to your physical response. Then you will be explained the problem diagnosed and ways you can help yourself at home.

Also, sometimes you might be required to visit the clinic for more sessions or you can physiotherapy home service which is also provided at Ahamyo.
